Jamaica - Life is a beach

Jamaica is currently high up on our 'Places to go as a family' list, not just because it's hot, you know how much I love heat, but because of the beautiful beaches and history behind the island. I believe that travel is an important part of educating our children about life in other countries, culture and music. I didn't travel until I was 21 and I want to make up for all those years lost and teach my children early about travelling and the beauty of other countries.

I love a beautiful beach, whether it is in sunny (yet cold) England or on a foreign land somewhere, a beach is a magical place which instantly carries my troubles away. I have never set foot on a white, sandy, caribbean beach before though and I am desperate to do so. It is what dreams are made of. It is where friends have been before and are planning to go again. It is where I wish my feet would land this summer. It is where I wish to educate my children about a culture in which they will only experience on an island such as this.

Going to Jamaica as a family was something I'd not really thought about until recently though. My head had kept it very much in a couples holiday zone until a group of bloggers took their families over to the island with a well known holiday company. The ages of their children ranged from babies to teens, yet each enjoyed it as much as the next. I had to unfollow their instagram accounts for a week because I was so jealous my brain was breaking with envy every time I saw the sparkling clear water or the white sand between their toes. *green eyed monster face* (I followed them back after obvs).

After getting a grip and reading their posts and looking back over their pictures a few weeks later, I discovered that Jamaica might just be the perfect destination for my little sun loving family. But where to go and what is there to do on the island? So I did a bit of research on that there tinternet...
