Well day one of our Bluestone Wales trip has come to an end and with a horrific medically challenged start, it has ended with a glass of the nice stuff and a relaxing lounge on the incredibly comfy sofa with a takeaway delivery from The Yard.
I'll start at the beginning.
Last night whilst dealing with Kyd's medical routine (long story) everything went wrong. We had to have an emergency discussion with his specialist and deal with a lot of panic. Panic didn't help. Anyway to cut a long story short, after several more phone calls he's now on a strict new routine until we work out the issues. This means a lot more attention and treatment every few hours but all is well and he will be enjoying himself this week whilst we fix it.
Anyway, the journey was amazingly calm and clear, once we managed to squash everything into the car, including children and medical kits. Our friends, their toddler, baby and my cousin (the hired babysitter for the week) are joining us too so we had two cars and still we struggled to pack in what we needed. Why do kids need so much stuff? euuugghh! We had no tantrums though so for me that is a success.
We arrived, got a bit lost inside the park because I can't read maps but we got there. The Lodge is amazing. Huge, very clean and very spacious, there are 3 bathrooms and everything. It was almost dark so we missed the views but it'll be a nice surprise in the morning.
Now, if I can get this little face to go to bed and not keep popping up at the window, I'm going to go and watch Kyd beat the men at FIFA on PS3 and have another glass of the nice stuff with the girls. To be honest we all seem to be flagging, apart from Rocky that is, so we will be in bed soon I suspect.
*raises glass* Here's to a good, medically uneventful, week.
See you tomorrow for another update.
