Education Quizzes - Where kids and parents go for a little extra help

 Educational Quizzes logo

Recently I was contacted by a company called Education Quizzes to try out their website for school age children. With Rocky heading off to school in September I thought it was a great time to find out what there was out there to help us help him. Kyd is in his own development timezone but these quizzes may also be a great help for me to work out where that timezone actually is.

What with all the hype about the SAT's about at the moment it seems that this site has come to my attention at the perfect time. Whether we believe that the tests on ones so young are right or wrong, this website, written by teachers, is here to boost the confidence and  give a little help to those who need it.

Our primary objective is to help children to be successful at school. Study of the school curriculums is made easy and enjoyable with our suites of KS1, KS2, 11-Plus, KS3 and GCSE quizzes. You will also find valuable sections on non-curriculum subjects and ESL (English as a second language) that ensures a rounded knowledge of the world.

Education Quizzes was created to help parents and children come together to add a little boost to their education outside of school. It's a proven fact that some children will find it harder than others to concentrate at school, I for one was one of those children. I was academic but was distracted by others so easily that I found learning in that environment really hard, choosing to go it alone and study on my own at home. There was no internet then, just books and a clever parent to help me. I fear for my children as my education suffered as soon as I hit my teens and so the idea of doing homework with Rocky scares the crap out of me. I know I'm not alone in this as a parent. I want to help him, I want to give him the best, but I feel unable to do so. Having websites like this really helps me have faith that when the time comes myself and Rocky can create the same home learning scenario as my highly educated mum did with me. I just pray he doesn't hit a bump in the road at his teen years like me.

What they do...

Revision Techniques

They choose to use multiple choice quizzes for revision because they provide the fastest route to success. During a revision session their quiz format constantly makes you think and concentrate so that you keep moving forward in a snappy way. After every question you are instantly told whether you answered correctly. Where appropriate, they give you helpful hints to make things clearer and to prevent you making mistakes.

Not Just For Parents...

The Education Quizzes website isn't just for parents, they have made it accessible for schools too and at a much cheaper rate, why not mention it to your head teacher and explain about the amazing quizzes for pupils on Education Quizzes. Here is what their team had to say...

We are conscious of the fact that not every parent can afford the £7.50 monthly subscription (£90.00 per year) to the site and that is a major reason for us wanting to promote the idea to schools.  In essence, a school can pay us on behalf of the students and benefit from greatly reduced costs.  Depending on the number of students at a school, it is possible for them to sign-up students for as little as £2.00 per year.  This is a miniscule proportion of the £4,500+ that each school is paid for each student each year and we believe it is an extremely small price to pay for a school to get more engagement with the parents.  It would also win the school some brownie-points when it comes to the next Ofsted inspection!
